Title 21 › Chapter CHAPTER 9— - FEDERAL FOOD, DRUG, AND COSMETIC ACT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER X— - MISCELLANEOUS › § 395
The Secretary must create a program to hire qualified health professionals to do research as employees of the Food and Drug Administration. For each year they work, the federal government will repay up to $20,000 of the principal and interest on their student loans. To qualify, a person must have a large amount of student debt compared to their income and must agree to work for at least 3 years. The program follows the same rules as the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program unless those rules conflict with the rules above. Money may be provided as needed for fiscal years 1994 through 1996.
