Title 22 › Chapter CHAPTER 21— - SETTLEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL CLAIMS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VII— - CLAIMS AGAINST VIETNAM › § 1645i
The Commission must notify the Secretary of the Treasury, in U.S. dollars, about every award made under the awards program. When the Treasury is notified, it must pay from the Claims Fund. First it pays $2,500 or the award’s principal, whichever is less. After that, it makes periodic proportional payments on the unpaid principal balances, based on each award’s share of the money then available. Once all principals are fully paid, proportional payments may be made for any allowed interest. All payments must follow Treasury rules.
