The Department of State may be given up to $73,325,000 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1947 to pay the United States’ contributions to the Organization, including supplies, services, money, and related costs under article 10 of the Organization’s constitution. The Department may also be given up to $175,000 for that same fiscal year to pay salaries for the U.S. representatives, alternates, and staff (including work in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere) and other expenses the Secretary of State finds needed for U.S. participation. Expenses under this authority must follow the rules in section 287e and its regulations that apply to subchapter XVI.
