Inspectors general at the State Department, USAID, and other federal agencies (not the Defense Department) must audit, investigate, and oversee how money from this part of the law is committed and spent. The State and USAID inspectors general can open field offices in Pakistan after talking with the Secretary of State and the USAID Administrator. For fiscal years 2010 through 2014, up to $30,000,000 each year from amounts authorized under section 8412 may be used for this work. These funds are in addition to other available money.
