Title 22 › Chapter CHAPTER 95— - IRAN FREEDOM AND COUNTERPROLIFERATION › § 8807
The President must, after January 2, 2013, impose the sanctions described in section 8514(c) on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and its president, Ezzatollah Zargami, and put them on the Treasury Department’s list of specially designated nationals and blocked persons (OFAC’s SDN list). Congress found that IRIB aired forced on‑air confessions and show trials, and that the European Council sanctioned Zargami in March 2012 for those broadcasts. The sanctions do not cover banning imports, and sections 8514(d) and 8551(b) apply to these sanctions the same way they do to sanctions under section 8514(a).
