Defines key words used in this chapter. Native American means an Indian, a Native Hawaiian, or a Native American Pacific Islander. Indian is as defined in section 7491(3) of title 20. Native Hawaiian is as defined in section 7517 of title 20. Native American Pacific Islander means a descendant of the original people of any Pacific island that is a U.S. territory or possession. Indian tribe and tribal organization are defined in section 5304 of this title. Native American language means historical, traditional Native languages. Traditional leaders are Native Americans with special cultural or language expertise. Indian reservation is defined in section 1452 of this title.
