Title 25 › Chapter CHAPTER 7— - EDUCATION OF INDIANS › § 304a
The Secretary of the Interior, through the Bureau of Indian Affairs, must study Indian education in the continental United States and Alaska. The study must look at school problems for Indian children from non-English-speaking homes and at ways to make transfers of Indian children to public schools more orderly and fair. The Secretary may make contracts under the Johnson-O’Malley Act (June 4, 1936). Within two years after funding is provided, the Secretary must send Congress a full report with the study results and any recommendations. Money needed to do this may be appropriated.
