Title 25 › Chapter CHAPTER 32B— - SAFEGUARD TRIBAL OBJECTS OF PATRIMONY › § 3075
The Secretary must pick an office to lead a working group with people from the Departments of the Interior, Justice, State, and Homeland Security. The group must help return cultural items taken or trafficked illegally to Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations, protect cultural and archaeological objects they still have, and help agencies follow laws like the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (25 U.S.C. 3001 et seq., including section 1170 of title 18), the Archaeological Resources Protection Act of 1979 (16 U.S.C. 470aa et seq.), and other laws. The group must help carry out this chapter and related changes. That includes aiding voluntary returns under section 3074 and stopping international sales of items federal law bans. It must work with other groups, including the Native working group (section 3076(a)), the NAGPRA review committee (25 U.S.C. 3006(a)), the Cultural Heritage Coordinating Committee (Public Law 114–151; 19 U.S.C. 2601 note), and other relevant committees.
