§122b General provisions

Title 27 › Chapter CHAPTER 6— - TRANSPORTATION IN INTERSTATE COMMERCE › § 122b

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Keeps the Internet Tax Freedom Act (47 U.S.C. 151 note) in effect and says nothing here can change or override it. Also, it does not allow courts to order an online platform or a messaging service to be shut down when someone else is using them for activities covered by this law. An "interactive computer service" means an online platform (like websites or social media). An "electronic communication service" means a service that sends messages (like email or texting). It also does not allow a court order that bans advertising or marketing of alcoholic drinks when that advertising is lawful where the importation or transport began.
