Mississippi is split into two federal court districts: the northern district and the southern district. Each district is divided into smaller parts called divisions. Each division covers a group of counties and has set places where federal court sessions are held. The northern district has three divisions: Aberdeen (13 counties) with courts in Aberdeen, Ackerman, and Corinth; Oxford (14 counties) with court in Oxford; and Greenville (10 counties) with courts in Clarksdale, Cleveland, and Greenville. The southern district has four divisions: Northern (18 counties) with court in Jackson; Southern (7 counties) with court in Gulfport; Eastern (12 counties) with court in Hattiesburg; and Western (8 counties) with court in Natchez.
