Title 28 › Part PART V— - PROCEDURE › Chapter CHAPTER 121— - JURIES; TRIAL BY JURY › § 1877
Federal grand and petit jurors get the same federal employee compensation benefits found in Title 5, Chapter 81, Subchapter 1 of the U.S. Code, but disability pay does not begin until the day after their jury service ends. For pay rules, a juror is treated as getting the minimum monthly pay for grade GS‑2 unless their regular government job pays more while they are on court leave; if it pays more, monthly pay is set under 5 U.S.C. 8114. Time counted as jury duty includes attending court after a summons, deliberating, being sequestered by a judge, or being at a court-ordered site to view something.
