Title 28 › Part PART III— - COURT OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES › Chapter CHAPTER 42— - FEDERAL JUDICIAL CENTER › § 623
The Board must guide and oversee the Federal Judicial Center. It sets policies and creates programs to help the Center do its work. It looks for ways to improve how federal courts are run, how court staff are trained, and how court resources are managed. The Board shares the Center’s recommendations with other government departments and agencies that deal with court administration. It studies how automatic data processing and systems can be used in court operations and includes the study results in the report it sends to the Judicial Conference of the United States at least one month in advance of its annual meeting. The Board also supports studies and programs about the history of the judicial branch. The Board must send copies of every report and recommendation it gives the Judicial Conference to Congress and to the Attorney General of the United States. It must also keep the Committees on the Judiciary of the United States Senate and House of Representatives fully and up to date about the Center’s activities.
