Title 29 › Chapter CHAPTER 4B— - FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT SERVICE › § 49i
Requires each State to keep enough records so officials can make the required reports and follow federal money to the exact spending point to show it was not used illegally. Allows the Secretary to investigate how States use these funds, and lets the Comptroller General also check for compliance. Neither investigator can ask a State to create new data that it does not already have. States must file reports in the form the Secretary requires and keep a management information system that follows the Secretary’s guidelines to collect and analyze program and financial data for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.
