Provides federal money to help people with disabilities live more independently and make their own choices. It supports peer help, self-help, self-determination, equal access, and advocacy so people can be leaders, work, and fully join everyday American life. The funds are used to (1) help States provide, expand, and improve independent living services; (2) build and support statewide networks of independent living centers; and (3) improve coordination among State and federal disability programs to increase independence.
