Title 30 › Chapter CHAPTER 25— - SURFACE MINING CONTROL AND RECLAMATION › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IX— - ENERGY RESOURCE GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS › § 1321
The Secretary of Energy can award up to 1,000 fellowships for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1979, and for each of the five fiscal years after that. The awards pay for graduate study and research in applied science and engineering related to making, saving, and using fuels and energy. They are for students in master’s degree programs. Fellowships may be used at colleges, libraries, archives, or other research centers that the Secretary of Energy approves after talking with the Secretary of Education. Each fellowship can last as long as the Secretary decides, but not more than two years. The Secretary may also give extra fellowships to replace ones that are vacated during a fiscal year. Replacement fellowships only cover the remaining time left on the original award, as the Secretary decides.
