Title 32 › Chapter CHAPTER 3— - PERSONNEL › § 328
A Governor (or the commanding general of the D.C. National Guard), with the Secretary’s approval, can order a National Guard member to serve on Active Guard and Reserve duty under section 502(f). While on that duty, the member may also do extra tasks listed in section 502(f)(2) so long as those tasks do not stop them from their main AGR jobs: organizing, administering, recruiting, instructing, and training the reserve forces. If the Secretary asks, the Governor may order a Guard member to serve on AGR mainly to train the regular armed forces. That training must follow the rules in section 502(f)(2)(B)(i). No more than 100 people can get this waiver at one time. This authority ends on October 1, 2024.
