Beginning July 31, 1947, Corps of Engineers money cannot be used to operate boats for private or non‑government purposes. The money can be used to pay inspection costs for Federal and State officials involved in authorized or proposed river, harbor, and flood‑control projects, but those costs must follow the Chief of Engineers' rules and be certified by a Division Engineer.
