Title 33 › Chapter CHAPTER 15— - FLOOD CONTROL › § 701b–4

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

The Engineer Corps of the United States Army must carry out surveys and other duties the Secretary of the Army directs. The Corps and its leader, the Chief of Engineers, run these jobs under the Secretary’s oversight, unless Congress says otherwise. The powers given to the Federal Power Commission by the Flood Control Act of June 28, 1938, still apply. No new preliminary exams, surveys, projects, or cost estimates may be made except for works already named in this Act or earlier Acts or joint resolutions. After the required formal reports on any exam, survey, project, or work are filed, no extra reports or estimates may be made unless a law allows them.
