Title 34 › Subtitle Subtitle I— - Comprehensive Acts › Chapter CHAPTER 111— - JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER V— - INCENTIVE GRANTS FOR LOCAL DELINQUENCY PREVENTION PROGRAMS › § 11314
The Administrator must award competitive grants to eligible Indian Tribes or groups of Tribes to fund and strengthen tribal programs that prevent juvenile delinquency and help care for at‑risk or delinquent youth after release. Grants must also push tribal governments to be accountable for preventing youth crime and for responding to juvenile offenders. To get a grant, a Tribe or tribal group must send an application in the form the Administrator requires. When choosing who gets grants, the Administrator must consider the tribe’s juvenile delinquency rates, school dropout rates, and how many youth are at risk. Each fiscal year, 11 percent of the money available under this part must be used for these grants.
