Defines key words used in this chapter. Eligible individual is a person trying to get a Child Development Associate credential whose income does not exceed 130 percent of the lower living standard income level, by more than 50 percent. Lower living standard income level is the income amount set each year by the Secretary of Labor, adjusted for region and family size and based on the most recent lower living family budget. Secretary means the Secretary of Health and Human Services. State means each State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.
