§15029 Authorization of appropriations

Summary

Authorizes $76,000,000 for allotments for fiscal year 2001 and whatever amounts are needed for each year from 2002 through 2007. If the amount actually provided in a year is less than $76,000,000, the Secretary must set aside funds under the rules in section 15083(c) to give technical assistance to funded entities. If the amount provided is at least $76,000,000, the Secretary must reserve no less than $300,000 and no more than 1 percent of that appropriation for technical assistance.

(a)Except as described in subsection (b), there are authorized to be appropriated for allotments under section 15022 of this title $76,000,000 for fiscal year 2001 and such sums as may be necessary for each of fiscal years 2002 through 2007.
(b)(1)For any fiscal year for which the amount appropriated under subsection (a) is less than $76,000,000, the Secretary shall reserve funds in accordance with section 15083(c) of this title to provide technical assistance to entities funded under this part.
(2)For any fiscal year for which the amount appropriated under subsection (a) is not less than $76,000,000, the Secretary shall reserve not less than $300,000 and not more than 1 percent of the amount appropriated under subsection (a) to provide technical assistance to entities funded under this part.
