The Secretary of Labor runs and carries out this part of the law. The Secretary can make rules, hire insurance companies to use their services to help, work with other federal, state, local, public, or private groups here or abroad and pay them for help, and give duties to other government officers or agencies, including states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. The Secretary can also waive the time limits for reporting an injury and filing a claim under this law when the injured person or their beneficiary could not meet the deadline because of circumstances beyond their control.
