Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 16— - NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION › § 1862a
Help update and rebuild research buildings and equipment at colleges, universities, nonprofit research centers, and research museums. The law says high-quality research and education are vital for national security, health, the economy, and general well-being. Many labs and facilities are old or in need of repair, and that weakens the country’s ability to stay at the front of science and technology. A national effort is needed. The Foundation must work with States, industry, and schools to invest money and renew these research facilities.
