The Secretary of Health and Human Services, through the National Center for Health Statistics, must send Congress a national disease prevention data profile on March 15, 1990, and again every three years on March 15. The report must show death rates and illness rates from preventable conditions, how physical factors affect health and relate to these problems, and how behaviors (for example, smoking, diet, exercise, and alcohol use) link to preventable death and disability. The Secretary must follow the rules in sections 242k and 242m when preparing the report.
