The Office's Director must write a report on women's health research by February 1, 1994, and every two years after. The report must cover four things: progress in NIH-supported research and treatment during the previous two fiscal years; the job status of women physicians and scientists at the Institutes, including problems and barriers to advancement; a summary and analysis of spending by those Institutes and the Office for those two years; and any recommended laws or administrative actions the Director thinks appropriate. Each report must be sent to the Director of NIH to be included in the report to the President and Congress under section 283.
