Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 82— - SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT › § 6931
Gives money to the States: $25,000,000 for each of fiscal years 1978 and 1979, $20,000,000 for 1980, $35,000,000 for 1981, $40,000,000 for 1982, $55,000,000 for 1985, $60,000,000 for each of 1986, 1987, and 1988. The funds are for grants to help States build and run their hazardous waste programs. The Administrator must write rules, after talking with the States, to split the money. The rules must consider how much hazardous waste a State handles, how people and the environment are exposed, and other appropriate factors. Grants can pay for planning treatment, storage, and disposal facilities and for programs to deal with inactive sites that may hold hazardous waste.
