Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 33— - ALASKA NATIVE CLAIMS SETTLEMENT › § 1603
Earlier transfers of public land or water in Alaska, and tentative approvals under section 6(g) of the Alaska Statehood Act, are treated as having ended any aboriginal title (Native land ownership) to those areas. All aboriginal titles and claims in Alaska — including submerged land under inland and offshore waters and any hunting or fishing rights — are ended, and any claims against the United States, the State, or other people based on those rights, on U.S. statutes or treaties, or on other nations’ laws (including cases already in court or before the Indian Claims Commission) are also ended.
