Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 33A— - IMPLEMENTATION OF ALASKA NATIVE CLAIMS SETTLEMENT AND ALASKA STATEHOOD › § 1632
Sets deadlines for suing about certain Alaska land decisions. Except for decisions about whether water areas are navigable for determining ownership of submerged lands under the Submerged Lands Act, you cannot ask a court to review a decision made by the Secretary under this chapter or the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act unless you start the court case within two years after the Secretary’s decision becomes final or by December 2, 1980, whichever is later. Before going to court, the person must first use any available administrative appeal options. Decisions by a Village Corporation to give land back under section 14(c) of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act cannot be reviewed by a court unless the case is started within one year after the boundary map is filed under rules the Secretary creates.
