Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 41— - FEDERAL LAND TRANSACTION FACILITATION › § 2306

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Keeps existing limits on buying or getting an interest in land that were set by any federal law in effect on July 25, 2000. It also does not apply to land that may be sold under eight specific laws, including Public Law 96–586 (the Santini-Burton Act), Public Law 105–263 (Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act of 1998), Public Law 109–432 (White Pine County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act of 2006), Public Law 108–424 (Lincoln County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act of 2004), and parts of Public Law 111–11 (the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009: subtitle F, subtitle O, section 2601, and section 2606). Does not stop or limit the government’s power to exchange federal land under laws such as the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (43 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) or the Federal Land Exchange Facilitation Act of 1988 (102 Stat. 1086). It also does not create any legal right or benefit that a person can use to sue the United States, its agencies, officers, or anyone else.
