Title 43 › Chapter CHAPTER 12— - RECLAMATION AND IRRIGATION OF LANDS BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VIII— - TAXATION › § 455b
Taxes legally charged on these lands become a claim on the land and can be enforced by selling the land, using the same process the state uses for private land tax sales. Any title the state gives at that sale must still honor an earlier United States claim for unpaid installments of the appraised purchase price and for any other lawful unpaid charges. A person who gets a tax deed for the land gets the same rights as an assignee under the federal entry and reclamation programs (including the Reclamation Act of June 17, 1902, as changed).
