Title 44 › Chapter CHAPTER 19— - DEPOSITORY LIBRARY PROGRAM › § 1903
When the Superintendent of Documents asks, government agencies must change how many copies they send so the Superintendent receives as many copies as there are libraries on the distribution list. That number cannot be limited by any law in effect on August 9, 1962. Included are Senate and House journals, nonconfidential committee publications, public bills and resolutions, and reports on private bills and other resolutions. Cooperative publications that must be sold are not included. The Superintendent must tell agencies how many copies are needed. If an agency has printing and binding done outside the Government Publishing Office, the agency pays. Copies ordered from the Government Publishing Office may be paid from funds provided to the Superintendent for that purpose.
