Title 45 › Chapter CHAPTER 16— - REGIONAL RAIL REORGANIZATION › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - UNITED STATES RAILWAY ASSOCIATION › § 728

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

The Association must prepare and send regular reports to Congress on how the Secretary is carrying out subchapters II, III, and IV of this chapter. The reports must also judge how well the Corporation is doing so Congress knows if Northeast rail service is good and if federal money invested in the Corporation is safe. The Association must also send a final report on the transfer agreements the Secretary sends to Congress under section 767. That final report must be sent the same day the Secretary sends the agreements. It must say how the agreements affect rail service in the Northeast, railroad employees, the Region’s economy, other railroads here and elsewhere, and any other issues the Association thinks important, and must recommend approval, disapproval, or changes to the agreements.
