Summary

When a covered maritime law is changed by adding, removing, moving, or renaming a section or bigger part, the law’s table of contents, analysis, or any similar list must be updated to match those changes. That update rule does not apply if the change itself (or a clerical change made at the same time) already fixes the table, or if the change says it is not covered by this rule. A "covered maritime law" means (1) this title, (2) any Maritime Administration authorization Act that authorizes funds to be appropriated for a fiscal year to the Maritime Administration, and (3) any other law the text names as covered.
