Title 48 › Chapter CHAPTER 3— - HAWAII › § 202
Defines key words used in this title. Agency means any U.S. government instrumentality, any part of an agency, or any corporation owned entirely or partly by the U.S. Government. Beneficiary means the same as "native Hawaiian" in section 201(7) of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act. Chairman means the Chairman of the Hawaiian Homes Commission of the State of Hawaii. Commission means the Hawaiian Homes Commission. Hawaiian Homes Commission Act means the 1920 Act that created the Commission. Hawaii State Admission Act means the law that admitted Hawaii, approved March 18, 1959. Lost use means the value of using land lost when beneficiaries or the Commission could not use lands because the Federal Government used them after August 21, 1959. Secretary means the Secretary of the Interior.
