Don’t give or offer anything of value to someone who works for a railroad covered by this law if you want to influence their choices about supplying, distributing, or moving rail cars, vehicles, or vessels that carry goods. If you do that, you can be fined up to $1,000, jailed for up to 2 years, or both. It is also illegal for a railroad employee to ask for, accept, or receive anything of value to be influenced in those decisions or because of actions they take.
