Title 5 › Part PART III— - EMPLOYEES › Subpart Subpart F— - Labor-Management and Employee Relations › Chapter CHAPTER 71— - LABOR-MANAGEMENT RELATIONS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IV— - ADMINISTRATIVE AND OTHER PROVISIONS › § 7132
Authorized officials of the Authority — like its members, the General Counsel, the Panel, appointed administrative law judges, and employees the Authority names — can issue subpoenas to make people come and testify or turn over documents from anywhere in the United States. They can also swear witnesses, take depositions, demand written answers, question people, and accept evidence. If someone refuses a subpoena, a U.S. district court where that person lives or is served can order them to comply and can punish them for contempt. Witnesses must be paid the same fees and travel money that subpoenaed witnesses get in U.S. courts.
