Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 50— - AGRICULTURAL CREDIT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IV— - ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS › § 1986
Employees of the Secretary (including officers and attorneys) must not take any fee, commission, gift, or other payment from any deal or business under this law, except their regular pay. Anyone who reviews or acts on a loan application to buy land may not have any interest in that land for three years after they act, unless the Secretary says beforehand that a former county committee member acted in good faith. County committee members must not knowingly certify loans for land where they or a close relative (second‑degree by blood or marriage) have or might get an interest, or for applicants who are such relatives. Anyone convicted of breaking these rules can be fined up to $2,000, jailed for up to two years, or both.
