§5506 Water policy with respect to agrichemicals

Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 86— - WATER QUALITY RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND COORDINATION › § 5506

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

USDA must lead education, technical help, and research for people who use and sell agrichemicals so those products are handled, stored, and thrown away safely, economically, and without harming water or the environment, and so users, dealers, and the public understand the effects on water. This does not change the Environmental Protection Agency’s duties under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (7 U.S.C. 136 et seq.), and several USDA research and service agencies must help.
