Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 87— - EXPORT PROMOTION › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - BARRIERS TO EXPORTS › § 5652
The Agriculture Secretary may use export-promotion programs run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Commodity Credit Corporation for certain products. This can happen when the United States starts an international trade dispute about an unfair trade practice but the other country blocks the case from moving forward by refusing to let it proceed. For each affected product, the Secretary must quickly talk with industry representatives and related groups to plan specific actions or a marketing strategy using some or all of those export programs. The Secretary must find out and follow the industry’s preference about how to use the available programs.
