§6210 Suspension and termination

Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 91— - LIME PROMOTION, RESEARCH, AND CONSUMER INFORMATION › § 6210

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

The Secretary must pause or end any lime order, or part of it, if it gets in the way of the chapter’s goals. The Secretary can hold a vote of lime producers, producer-handlers, and importers to see if they want an order to continue, end, or be paused. The Secretary must hold that vote if the Board asks or if at least 10 percent of the covered producers, producer-handlers, and importers petition for it. Stopping or pausing an order is not treated as making a new order. The Secretary will suspend or end the order at the end of the marketing year if a majority of voters favor it and those voters account for more than 50 percent of the lime volume produced and imported by the voters.
