Summary

Once the new law enforcement and intelligence data system starts, the Attorney General and the Secretary of State must put the ID number of any U.S. or foreign passport reported lost or stolen into that system within 72 hours of being notified. As much as possible, the Attorney General, with the Secretary of State, must also add ID numbers for passports lost or stolen before the system began. Until the new system is fully working, the Attorney General must enter those passport ID numbers into an existing database used to decide whether noncitizens can be admitted or removed.
