Draft Form 33 May Replace Current Form 33

OSHA plans to complete validity and reliability studies of the Draft Revised Form 33 (DRF33) — including a 20-visit pre-test, 300 pilot study consultation visits with 350 planned assessments, a prospective analysis at least 12 months after the pilot visits, and a 30-visit follow-up — and then seek OMB approval before replacing the current OSHA Form 33 nationwide. OSHA reports 326 assessments have been completed so far.

Pilot Study OMB Approval Extended to 2028

OSHA is requesting that OMB extend approval of the pilot study information collection (OMB Control Number 1218-0280) for three years, to June 30, 2028. The agency estimates 887 remaining burden hours, with 523 respondents and 810 responses, and states the pilot will include pre-test visits, pilot visits, a prospective analysis, and follow-up visits.

Opportunity to Comment by March 14, 2025

Employers and safety professionals can submit public comments on the extension and the Draft Revised Form 33 through March 14, 2025, via https://www.regulations.gov or fax. OSHA will summarize comments and include them in its request to OMB.
