The Task Force shall seek to have resources ready for K-12 instruction within 180 days after announcing the first partnerships.
Prioritizing Teacher AI Training Grants
Within 120 days of April 23, 2025 the Secretary of Education must prioritize the use of discretionary grant programs for teacher training that integrates AI, including professional development in AI and foundational computer science for all educators.
Grow AI Registered Apprenticeships and WIOA Guidance
Within 120 days of April 23, 2025 the Secretary of Labor must seek to increase participation in AI-related Registered Apprenticeships, set goals for growth, use discretionary funds and apprenticeship intermediary contracts, and issue guidance encouraging States to use WIOA youth formula funds and Governor set-asides to develop AI skills and work-based learning.
High School Dual Enrollment and Credential Priority
Within 120 days of April 23, 2025 the Secretary of Labor and Secretary of Education shall encourage grants and partnerships that give priority to providers that develop or expand AI courses and certification programs, and promote dual enrollment so high school students can earn postsecondary credentials and industry-recognized AI credentials concurrently with high school.
Presidential AI Challenge for Students
Within 90 days of April 23, 2025 the Task Force must plan a Presidential Artificial Intelligence Challenge and hold the Challenge no later than 12 months after that plan. The competition will include multiple age categories, geographic regions, and topical themes to showcase student and educator achievements in AI.
4‑H and Extension AI Education Priority
Within 120 days of April 23, 2025 the Secretary of Agriculture shall prioritize research, extension, and education on AI through 4-H and the Cooperative Extension System and use existing programs to create teacher and educator training opportunities.
