Term Length and Possible Background Check
If appointed, your membership term will expire on December 31 of the third full year after the effective date of your appointment, and the Secretary of Homeland Security may require that you pass an appropriate security background examination before appointment.
Members Must Sign Agreements to Serve
Appointed members will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement and a Gratuitous Services Agreement as conditions of serving on the Committee.
Meeting Frequency and Locations
The Committee is required to meet at least twice a year (and may meet more frequently); meetings are selected by the U.S. Coast Guard and generally held across the country as close as possible to commercial fishing communities.
