TikTok Enforcement Delay Extended

The government delays enforcement of the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act until September 17, 2025. The Department of Justice will take no action or impose penalties against any entity for noncompliance during this period, and it will not pursue enforcement for conduct that occurred during this period or before, including from January 19, 2025 until June 19, 2025.

Attorney General to Clear Providers in Writing

The Attorney General must send a letter to each provider saying there has been no violation and no liability for any conduct that happened during the enforcement delay period and for any conduct from the Act's effective date until the date of this order. This provides written confirmation of no liability for providers for those dates.

Federal Authority Shield Against State or Private Suits

The order directs the Attorney General to use all available authority to stop states or private parties from attempting to enforce the Act, saying such attempts encroach on the Executive's exclusive enforcement power. The Attorney General must act to preserve the Executive Branch's sole enforcement authority.
