DOT Cancels Airline Hotline Rule
The Department of Transportation has terminated the planned rulemaking (RIN 2105-AE83) that would have created a consumer complaints hotline and required airlines to display the hotline number on their websites and at airports. Congress removed that requirement in section 520 of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 (Pub. L. 118-63), so there will be no new DOT rule or new costs for travelers or airlines from this action.
