Mandatory seat-rail inspections required
If you own or operate a Tecnam Model P-Mentor airplane, the FAA now requires an initial and repetitive inspection of the pilot and co‑pilot seat rails. You must complete any corrective action found during those inspections to address a failure of the pilot seat locking mechanism.
One-time fix can stop inspections
The AD includes an optional terminating action: you can perform a one-time corrective action that ends the requirement for repetitive inspections of the seat rails. Choosing this optional terminating action replaces the need for the repeated inspections set by the AD.
