Updated flood maps may change insurance

FEMA revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for certain communities by changing Base Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, and the regulatory floodway. If you live in or own property in those communities, your flood insurance rules could change, so check the revised FIRM and any Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) before buying or renewing a policy. The current effective community number shown in FEMA's table must be used for all new policies and renewals.
