Proposed Flood Map Changes
FEMA proposes changes to Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports that may add or modify Base Flood Elevation (BFE), base flood depth, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, or regulatory floodways for the communities listed in the notice. These are preliminary determinations, and FEMA is requesting public comments before the changes become official.
Community NFIP Qualification Requirement
FEMA says the FIRM and FIS report are the basis for the floodplain management measures a community is required to adopt or to show evidence of having in effect in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). If a community does not adopt or show those measures, its NFIP participation could be affected.
Opportunity to Comment Before Finalization
FEMA is requesting public comments on the preliminary FIRMs and, where applicable, the FIS reports for the listed communities. If you live in or own property in one of the listed communities, you can submit comments before FEMA finalizes these flood hazard determinations.

The FIRM and FIS report are the basis of the floodplain management measures that a community is required either to adopt or to show evidence of having an effect in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
2026-17072, Changes in Flood Hazard Determinations
This notice lists communities where the addition or modification of Base Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, or the regulatory floodway (hereinafter referred to as flood hazard determinations), as shown on the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), and where applicable, in the supporting Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports, prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for each community, is appropriate because of new scientific or technical data. The FIRM, and where applicable, portions of the FIS report, have been revised to reflect these flood hazard determinations through issuance of a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR), in accordance with Federal Regulations. The current effective community number is shown in the table below and must be used for all new policies and renewals.

Starting November 27, 2026, certain communities will see updated flood risk maps that show new or changed flood zones and water levels. 2026-17070, Changes in Flood Hazard Determinations
New or modified Base (1-percent annual chance) Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, and/or regulatory floodways (hereinafter referred to as flood hazard determinations) as shown on the indicated Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) for each of the communities listed in the table below are finalized. Each LOMR revises the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), and in some cases the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports, currently in effect for the listed communities.
