Satellite carriers pay 2.9% higher royalties
Starting January 1, 2026, satellite TV carriers must pay 2.9% more in compulsory copyright royalties. The monthly rates are set at 37 cents per subscriber for private home viewing (up from 36 cents) and 76 cents per subscriber for commercial establishments (up from 74 cents); these rates apply for the period January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026 and the rule is effective December 1, 2025.

Any party that fails to file a petition to participate by the time set forth in this notice shall not be a participant at any stage of either proceeding, unless the Judges accept a late petition to participate pursuant to 37 CFR 351.1(d).
